Crowdfunding for nature and climate protection

As part of the Society & Nature - Sustainability Generation Pact program, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation is once again sending a strong signal for environmental and climate protection. After successfully supporting 17 innovative projects in 2023, the next round of the crowdfunding campaign on the Baden-Württemberg Crowd is set to take place in fall 2024.

A program for the future

With its Society & Nature program, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation is pursuing an ambitious goal: it not only wants to protect biodiversity, but also promote climate-friendly practices. The focus is on the intergenerational pact, which networks knowledge and experience between young and old and thus helps to overcome divisions. The aim is to motivate people to work together for a more sustainable future and to take active action.

Crowdfunding as a driver for change

The crowdfunding campaign is a central instrument of this program. It offers non-profit organizations the opportunity to finance their projects in the field of environmental and climate protection. In addition to financial support from the foundation, the projects can raise further funds via the crowdfunding platform and achieve effects such as membership growth, increased awareness and image enhancement. Projects that implement innovative ideas and connect people in Baden-Württemberg are eligible to participate. The diversity of the projects so far shows the level of commitment and creativity in the region.

Review and outlook

The success of the first crowdfunding round in 2023 speaks for itself: 17 projects were supported with over 285,000 euros, which are committed to protecting nature and promoting sustainable lifestyles. These projects have not only strengthened the regional community, but have also shown that local commitment can have a major impact.

In autumn 2024, non-profit organizations will once again have the opportunity to become part of this movement. The Baden-Württemberg Stiftung invites all interested parties to submit their ideas and thus make a contribution to a more sustainable future.
